{"id":11524,"date":"2016-06-08T12:34:24","date_gmt":"2016-06-08T10:34:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/the-keys-to-madrid-en-corto\/"},"modified":"2016-06-08T12:34:24","modified_gmt":"2016-06-08T10:34:24","slug":"the-keys-to-madrid-en-corto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/en\/the-keys-to-madrid-en-corto\/","title":{"rendered":"The Keys to Madrid en corto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This week we are presenting the 12th edition of <strong>Madrid en corto<\/strong> and today we have launched the new website with the 2016 selection: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madridencorto.es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.madridencorto.es<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Madrid en corto<\/strong> is the short film distribution catalog of the Community of Madrid, which was established in 2005. Short films that have received a project grant the previous year may be included in the catalog. The awards are presented at the closing of the <strong>Community of Madrid Short Film Week<\/strong>, which took place in May.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During these 11 years <strong>we have distributed 74 short films<\/strong> (not counting the new additions), and we could say that the project has been a complete success, <strong>with 7,397 festival selections<\/strong> and no less than <strong>1,529 awards<\/strong> accumulated during all this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are <strong>three main keys<\/strong> to consider in the <strong>festival strategy<\/strong> that we carry out during the first months:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The short films have already had their national premiere (at the <strong>Community of Madrid Short Film Week<\/strong>), therefore we rule out premiere festivals in Spain, and we try to cover a greater number of national festivals.<\/li>\n<li>We take care of those short films that are pending their international premiere, and we submit them to festivals where this is required or valued, such as <strong>Locarno<\/strong> or <strong>Toronto<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From here we take into account the national premiere by country, especially in those festivals that are on the Oscars list, and with which we have a closer relationship, <a href=\"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/primer-encuentro-de-distribucion-de-la-semana-del-corto\/\">you can see this list in this other post<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In total we usually submit each short film to around 600 festivals in one year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>international presence<\/strong> is one of the strong points of <strong>Madrid en corto.<\/strong> Over these years we have participated in a total of 86 different countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To summarize the international presence I have created this <strong>interactive graphic<\/strong> with the total presence by country, to see the totals you just need to move the mouse over each country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1GEnHSvX6sz_bESkatgmirAHQGH1Ps1xCpOVc9vg63ks\/pubchart?oid=1382128678&#038;format=interactive\" width=\"623\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 10 countries with the highest number of selections are: Italy, United States, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Mexico, Portugal, Poland, Argentina and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The presentation and screening of the short films will take place <strong>at the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes Cinema at 7:30 PM, and will include the presence of the directors<\/strong>, the second screening will take place on Saturday the 11th at 12:00 PM at the Cineteca, as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamesonnotodofilmfest.com\/jntdff_weekend.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Notodo Weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are presenting the 12th edition of Madrid en corto and today we have launched the new website with the 2016 selection: www.madridencorto.es Madrid en corto is the short film distribution catalog of the Community of Madrid, which was established in 2005.
