The countdown for registration for the 2017 Goya Awards<\/strong> has already begun; there are only 18 days left until September 30, a mere three weeks. In the field of documentaries<\/strong>, things haven’t changed much since the post where I analyzed the shorts that could register.<\/a> There are still only three short films: <\/p>\n

    Last Friday, the Alcances Documentary Film Festival<\/a><\/strong> opened, which closes next Saturday, September 17<\/strong>. At this moment, it is the only possibility for a fourth short film. Let’s look at the options available right now. <\/p>\n

      From this list, we must rule out Ventanas<\/strong> (it was nominated last year), Eco<\/strong> (it is from last year), and 23 de mayo<\/strong> (it is already registered). Now let’s see in the ICAA website database<\/a> which of these shorts have the rating license, which they all must have before the festival takes place. <\/p>\n

      This is the result: No short film currently has the rating license and the certificate of nationality, except for 1 short<\/strong>; this is Ojo salvaje<\/strong>, by Paco Nicol\u00e1s, which would need the award to be able to register for the Goyas, as the selection alone would not be enough.<\/p>\n

      The poor situation of documentary short films is confirmed; we may find ourselves with only three registered shorts.<\/strong><\/p>\n
