{"id":11712,"date":"2015-02-08T13:55:26","date_gmt":"2015-02-08T12:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/the-festival-run-of-juan-y-la-nube\/"},"modified":"2015-02-08T13:55:26","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T12:55:26","slug":"the-festival-run-of-juan-y-la-nube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/en\/the-festival-run-of-juan-y-la-nube\/","title":{"rendered":"The festival run of JUAN Y LA NUBE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At yesterday&#8217;s <strong>Goya Awards<\/strong> ceremony, Giovanni Macelli&#8217;s short film JUAN Y LA NUBE won the <strong>Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film<\/strong>, a well-deserved award for this short film, which, as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madridencorto.es\/2014\/juan-y-la-nube\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Madrid en corto 2014<\/a> catalog, is having a great run on the festival circuit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After just over six months of distribution, it&#8217;s a good time to briefly review its journey. We started with the first submissions and registrations in July, after its premiere at the <strong>Madrid Community Short Film Week<\/strong>, and following screenings at the <strong>Filmoteca<\/strong> and <strong>Cineteca<\/strong> (as part of <strong>Notodo Weekend<\/strong>), both already included in the catalog. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nationally, the first festival where it competed was the <strong>Elche Festival<\/strong> in July, and internationally, at the animation festivals of <strong>Animage<\/strong> (Brazil), <strong>Linoleum<\/strong> (Russia), and <strong>FIA<\/strong> (Uruguay), all in September. Its US premiere was none other than at the prestigious <strong>Austin Film Festival<\/strong> in October. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have prepared some charts for 2014 and 2015 where we can see its monthly festival journey:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/JUAN-Y-LA-NUBE-2014.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"462\" height=\"269\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the first few months, the short film&#8217;s growth has been spectacular, achieving about 13 selections, two of which are out of competition, in October alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ismaelmartin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/JUAN-Y-LA-NUBE-2015.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"465\" height=\"269\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a typically slow January, we have no less than eight festival selections planned for February, with festivals already confirmed for March and April.
