In the end it was not to be, and Madre fell just short of winning the first Oscar for a Spanish short film. The Best Live Action Short Film went to Skin, by Guy Nattiv, Jaime Ray Newman, and Sharon Maymon.
In any case, being nominated is the best prize, and we are already thinking about next year, when we return to the Oscars with Cerdita, by Carlota Pereda.
Meanwhile, distribution work continues without pause; right now, for example, we are gradually closing submissions with March deadlines.
Although access to festivals is becoming increasingly easier thanks to submission platforms, there are many other festivals with online submissions and PDF forms.
This week I have prepared a list of very different festivals that share this common denominator: online and PDF forms, and therefore you will not see them on the platforms (although there may be some that open calls in several ways, it is preferable to submit online).
They are festivals of many types, both feature films and short films, as well as documentaries, fiction, etc.
