The 10 most viewed posts of 2016

It has been four years since I launched this blog; April 2012 now feels a long way off. In the first post I shared the talk on digital screenings for festivals, which took place in December 2011 as part of the Festival Meeting of the Community of Madrid. It was the beginning of a technological revolution that has changed the way films are distributed and screened at film festivals.

Maintaining and updating a blog’s content is very complicated; over these years I have published very little each year. In May I picked up the pace and have been publishing every week. Also, in August I changed the design and improved the structure of the content.

In the last post of the year, I wanted to put together a summary of the 10 most viewed. There is a bit of everything: submission platforms, festival strategies, the Goya Awards, documentaries, etc.

Interestingly, the post that tops the ranking was published in 2013. It was about submission platforms; to this day it continues to be one of the most visited, and it remains a very current topic. The rest of the posts were published in 2016.

This is the year’s summary:

#1 Short film distribution platforms

#2 Questions about the short film selection for the Goya Awards

#3 How to avoid fake festivals

#4 How to make DCP copies easily

#5 Successes and mistakes in the new Rules for the Goya Awards for Short Films

#6 7 documentary film festivals with open submissions

#7 The short film distribution sector

#8 Let’s talk about the Short Film Corner at Cannes

#9 Short film distribution strategy at A-list festivals

#10 Festivals to keep an eye on new Spanish cinema

I hope you have enjoyed the blog. Personally, I have learned a lot and I am very pleased with the reception it is getting.

See you in 2017!!
