Download the list of Oscar-qualifying festivals for Fiction and Animation sorted by deadline

To get 2017 off to a good start, this first post comes with a gift included

The lists of Oscar-qualifying festivals available on the official Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences website are organized alphabetically, including the website and the qualifying awards for each festival. This information is essential, but in its current format, it is not very practical for workflow purposes.

If you are currently preparing the festival strategy for your short film, you would need it, at the very least, sorted by the submission deadline.

Over the last few weeks, I have been working on a list of all international festivals (I have removed national awards) sorted by the regular deadline, including several fields that are very useful for planning distribution: country, submission platform, entry fee in Euros (at the current exchange rate), and the start and end dates of the event.

Additionally, I have separated the Fiction and Animation lists, which are currently mixed together.

This last point is particularly important, as some festivals only have awards for one or the other, or do not accept both genres.

In total, there are 6 pages with all the data updated, except for those that have not yet opened their call for entries. In those cases, I have used the 2016 information; date variations are usually minimal.

If you are interested in these lists, here is the subscription form to download them:

As soon as you confirm your email address, you will receive an email with the download link.

Whether you are managing your short film yourself or you are a short film distributor, I hope you find them useful and that they help you plan your festival circuit.

If you find any errors, just let me know and I will update the lists with the corrections, maintaining the same download link you will receive by email.

Happy New Year 2017!!
