A new update of these lists is now available, which can be very useful if you are starting to distribute your short film at festivals.
The lists published by the Academy of Hollywood which you can download at this link are sorted alphabetically with only the name and website; although this format is not very practical for working, they are essential for short film distribution.
For that reason, I sort them by deadline to better organize the festival calendar. Additionally, I have added more data such as dates, the host country, and the entry fee converted to euros so that you can create an estimated budget.
On the official website there are two original lists, but in this case I have separated them into three different lists, so you can more clearly see those festivals that qualify for Animation, Fiction, or Documentary.
This year, as a new feature, I have added the early and the regular deadline for festivals with fees and have kept the regular deadline for festivals without fees or with a single deadline.
The festival dates are for this year, 2021; these dates do not usually undergo significant changes from one year to the next (except in 2020 with COVID), so you can plan for the medium and long term.
The lists are only available to subscribers; if you are already one, you do not need to do anything, as you will have received an email with the new update.
