We have been working for several months on the preparation of the First Professional Forum of Short Film Week, which now includes the Short Film Distribution Meeting, celebrating its third edition this year.
The Professional Forum consists of several activities that will take place on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. On Friday alone, no fewer than seven different activities will take place. In the morning, there will be an Actors and Directors Meeting (with Jose Manuel Carrasco) and an approach to the national and international press campaign for a short film with the case study of Aquel no era yo, which was nominated for the Academy Awards (with the attendance of Alvaro Vega and David Casas).
Friday afternoon is dedicated to the Distribution Meeting:
Activities of the Third Short Film Distribution Meeting
You can attend as audience or as a participant. This is a summary of the program if you wish to attend as audience:
The Meeting begins at 4:00 PM with a project analysis session for projects in post-production phase or in the initial distribution phase. A committee of experts will analyze the projects from the perspective of short film distribution, which also allows us to understand what the best strategies might be to start moving a short film.
After this analysis, at 5:30 PM, there will be a session of short presentations of projects related to distribution. Both distributors and platforms will have the opportunity to present themselves to the audience.
After a coffee break, there will be the presentation of the Italian Centro Nacionale del Cortometraggio and the new Turin Short Film Market, which was launched in 2016 (Italy is the guest country at Short Film Week this year). Following this presentation, the Italy Panel will take place to analyze forms of collaboration and work between Spain and Italy in the field of short films.
To conclude the day, there will be a Meeting with Festival Programmers at 8:00 PM. Among the guests will be Enrico Vanucci, short film programmer at the Venice International Film Festival, Tim Redford, coordinator of the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, and Giuliana Sana, programmer at Sedicicorto in Italy.
This activity will conclude the Distribution Meeting and Friday’s program.
The Professional Forum continues on Saturday with activities more related to production, such as the Short Film Co-Production Forum starting at 10:00 AM and the Professional Meeting of Producers and Screenwriters at 12:00 PM.
In the afternoon, at 4:30 PM, there will be a Working Session of the Short Film Coordinator, which closes the Professional Forum.
